If it is possible to find one thing that unites all lawyers, then it is definitely an inexorable passion for heated discussions and disputes. We decided not to limit ourselves to court disputes only and started a corporate Book Club, where every month we discuss a variety of books by Russian and foreign authors – from timeless classics to new releases by modern writers.
We held our first Book Club meeting In January 2023 on one of the most talked-about novels by Donna Tartt, “The Goldfinch,” and after that we had hard time stopping, we were on the roll! – and now we have already 12 club meetings held and 12 books read: “Anxious People” by Fredrik Backman, “A Little Life” by Hanya Yanagihara, “Anéantir” by Michel Houellebecq, “Brave New World” by Aldous Huxley, “The Road to Calvary” by Alexei Tolstoy and many others.
For us, the Book Club is, first of all, an opportunity to share our thoughts about “what the author was bearing in mind” and find out the point of view of our colleagues.
